The Punjab Examination Commission came into being as an independent body mainly for the purpose of commencing examinations of 5th and 8th class. Alongside it undertakes responsibilities of announcing 8th class date sheet, registration of students, issuance of roll number slips, allocation of examination centers, Scoring centers for each and every subject tehsil wise, Preparations of results, prescription for rules and regulations of checking, monitoring of checking centers and concluding a final report of examinations of 5th and 8th class.
It is certainly a great responsibility to commence exams at such large level at once. Examinations of 8th and 5th class are scheduled in the month of February. PEC also organized rechecking facility of papers. The students will be able to register their complains in PEC office to recheck their papers if they have any complain. The result cards of private candidates are delivered at their door steps and regular candidates receive their results in their schools of both 5th and 8th classes respectively.
PEC has organized an online system of registration and paper rechecking for facility of students. The students can download registration form online and submit the fee at banks. The registrations of 5th and 8th calss PEC examinations usually start in the month of November every year. PEC started working in 2005; it has been commencing 5th and 8th class examinations for 20 years almost now.
